From 20/04/2024 to 24/11/2024 - Events

The 60th International Art Exhibition of Venice, "Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere", curated by Adriano Pedrosa, will take place from April 20 to November 24, 2024, at the Giardini and the Arsenale. The exhibition is divided into two main sections: Contemporary Core and Historical Core.

Historical Core: An Exploration of Global Modernisms

The Historical Core features works from the 20th century from Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Arab world. Three rooms in the Central Pavilion offer:

  • Portraits: 112 artists and a wide range of works exploring the human figure.
  • Abstractions: 37 artists in new juxtapositions to discover connections between different artistic expressions.
  • Italian artistic diaspora: focus on Italian artists who have worked abroad.

The title of the Biennale: tribute to the Claire Fontaine Collective

The title "Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere" is inspired by the Claire Fontaine collective and its neon works that address racism and xenophobia, reflecting on the concept of “foreigner” in global society.

Collateral events and performances

In addition to the main exhibitions, the Biennale will offer 30 collateral events and artistic performances, enriching the experience for visitors. Learn more and stay updated by visiting the official Biennale website.
